Niykee has experienced an eventful few years, including being chosen by Snoop to join him on The YouTube Brandcast May 2013 Niykee has a regular songwriting routine despite all this. Now a magnet for up-and-coming artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and realizes that most result in sparking ideas for songs. "I'll be able to discern within the first 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. When I've got a tune in my mind I'll begin writing straight away." My guitar is on the porch, and I just let my words flow. Most of the time, it's done in less than thirty minutes. Niykee's past pain is a constant source of motivation as she grows as an author. Even when she is not writing about the things which are actually happening, all of her pain from childhood and losing her younger sister find it's way into her music. My songs are shaped by it and I sense the deep meaning behind all of it. This is one of the aspects that are most crucial to me.
